Ecology North announced the winners of the Yellowknife Pop-Up Park Ideas Competition yesterday.
Public voting for five winning ideas ended last week.

The five winners are Aurora Seating by Katharine Thomas, Mini-Golf, by Jessica Bruhn, a Learning & Literacy Garden by the NWT Literacy Council, an Indigenous Languages Mural by Jacey Firth-Hagen of #SpeakGwichinToMe and a Tire(d) Garden, by Harrison Roberts.
The competition winners will each be given $500 in prize money and a space in the park to build their ideas on. Their five plots take up roughly half of the site, and the other half of the park will have semi-permanent landscaping by Ecology North and the City of Yellowknife. Construction has already begun and will continue until the end of July.
