In remembrance of the attack on Air India Flight 182, cities across Canada have lowered their flags to half-mast to honour the 280 innocent Canadians killed in the tragedy.
The attack, planned and executed in Canada, claimed the lives of over 300 people including 280 Canadians, and marked the worst terrorist attack in Canadian history.
“Today, we remember those who have lost their lives to acts of terror in Canada and around the world,” Premier Caroline Cochrane shared on social media. “To mark the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism, the Territorial flag on all GNWT buildings in the NWT will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset,” she added.
Across Yellowknife, schools, public buildings, and government offices can be seen with flags at half-mast in honour of the souls lost in the bombing.
