Northland Utilities introduces Yellowknife’s first Level 3 Electric Vehicle Fast Charger

Northland Utilities and the GNWT have announced the availability of the city’s first Level 3 Electric Vehicle Fast Charger.

According to the GNWT, the 100kW Level 3 EV Fast Charger comes as part of the territorial 2030 Energy Strategy and 2022-25 Energy Action Plan.

The charger is the first of its kind in the city, and Northland Utilities says the charger “sets the stage” for electric vehicles across the territory. Additionally, the utility company adds a second 100kW Fast Charger is expected to become available in Yellowknife in the near future.

“This is just the beginning, and we look forward to further collaborations with the GNWT to enable EV charging infrastructure in the territory,” Northland Utilities Manager Vic Barr says.
