The Behchokǫ̀ RCMP are continuing to coordinate a search and rescue operation for 54-year-old Ralph Beaulieu. Beaulieu, who was supposed to be picked up from his cabin south of Behchokǫ̀, has not been located yet.
Yellowknife Ground Search and Rescue, in collaboration with CASARA, is utilizing technology to enhance the search capacity. An aircraft with forward-looking infrared (FLIR) capabilities is being deployed. This tool is scheduled to conduct a low-level overflight of previously searched areas and new areas, aiming to identify areas for ground searchers to canvass. This flight is planned for the early evening.
Volunteers have expressed interest in joining the search. Those interested in helping out are asked to coordinate with Yellowknife Ground Search and Rescue or the on-site RCMP search manager on-site before heading out.
