Parade Route Revealed for Yellowknife’s Canada Day Celebration

The City of Yellowknife has shared their official plans for Canada Day!

Most of the days events will be taking place at the Somba K’e Civic Plaza on Monday, July 1st, from 12:15 to 5:00. At the park will be attractions such as a bouncy house, a balloon artist and magician, and many more live performances. Local food and artist vendors will be present as well to offer their wares.

The City has expressed their thanks to the Canadian Heritage group for their financial support for the day’s festivities.

Of course, the main attraction of the day will be the Canada Day Parade.

The parade will begin at the intersection of 48th Street and 49th Avenue at 11:00. The parade will progress down 48th Street, make its way south along Franklin Avenue, and end at Forrest Drive. Any roads along the parade route will be closed from 8:30 to 12:30. There will also be no parking allowed along the parade route, and the public are advised to expect these delays and plan around them.
