The City of Yellowknife is advising the public of a new scam that has been going around.
The scam is being executed through text messages that claim the recipients have parking tickets and issues that have not been resolved. The text then concludes with a link to an unknown website. These texts are not being sent by the City, as parking dispute information would not be delivered in this manner.
Residents are advised to not click on the links or provide any personal information to the sender. If any city residents do have questions on parking issues, they are asked to contact the Municipal Enforcement Division at 867-920-5630.
