Northwestel is calling for northern artists to enter the 2025 Northwestel Directory Art Contest.
The event has been a longstanding tradition at Northwestel after its inception in 1979. Each year, three artists are chosen and their artwork is featured on their region’s directory cover. Winners are awarded $5,000 each and celebrated in an online campaign.
Entrants must be residents of Northwestel’s current operating area including Nunavut, the NWT, Northern BC, Northern Alberta, or the Yukon, who are the age of majority in their province or territory.
Eligible art mediums for the competition include two-dimensional originals such as acrylic, oil, or watercolour paintings, digital artworks such as drawings, and three-dimensional works like sculptures.
Artists can submit their entries online for consideration until October 11th at 9:00 a.m. PST. Winners will be notified by November 12th of this year, and will be announced publicly next spring.
