New Photography Exhibit Coming to Yellowknife Heritage Centre

A new photography exhibit is coming to Yellowknife’s Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre.

The work of Yellowknife based photographer Bob Wilson will be on display in the Mezzanine Gallery, beginning on December 6th. Wilson has been taking pictures of the Territory for more than forty years, and in more recent days, has spent much of time in downtown Yellowknife, where he continues to document his surroundings.

The exhibit will be running until May 19th, from 10am to 5pm, Tuesdays to Sundays. An official launch event will be taking place in January.

This display, known as “YK Centered,” is the first that has been selected by the Art Selection Committee, which goes over applications for the Mezzanine Gallery. The Committee’s newest members are Brandon Larocque of Nahanni Butte, Laura Hodgins and Nancy Mullick from Yellowknife, and Stefan Nicoloff from Inuvik.

The next exhibit that will be featured in the Mezzanine Gallery will be Tłı̨chǫ artist Matthew Vukson’s exhibit “Ehtśo Nàtséelii (We Sew Beads)” in June of 2025.
