The City of Yellowknife is once again partnering with Naka Power Utilities to put together the annual Holiday Lights Competition!
Residents are encouraged to decorate their homes as lavishly as possible for the holidays to help brighten the darkest days of the year. Those who are taking part in the contest are asked to keep their lights on from 6:00pm to 9:00pm from December 14th to January 6th. Between those days, city residents and representatives from Naka Power Utilities will be nominating the most eye-catching houses.
Nominations can be sent in by email to [email protected]. Residents are also welcome to nominate themselves, with a submission deadline of December 20th.
Nominated homes will be added to a virtual map which will allow all of their friends and neighbours to vote on their favourite displays. Voting will take place from December 24th to January 6th on the City of Yellowknife Facebook page.
The top 5 winners will be announced on January 8th, and each will receive a $100 prize from Naka, along with a special plaque from the City.
