The Town of Hay River is getting ready to celebrate their friends and neighbours at the 2025 Community Spirit Awards Gala.
The event will be held on February 22nd, and is designed to honour the various locally operating businesses that have exemplified some of Hay River’s core values. The awards have been divided into ten different categories, each of which will be presented by a different business.
The ten categories are:
- Youth Volunteer Award, presented by Carter Industries
- Senior Volunteer Award, presented by Hay River Legion Branch 250
- Outstanding Athlete Award, presented by Ernie’s Automotive
- Arts & Culture Award, presented by Ptarmigan Inn
- Community Spirit Initiative Award, presented by NWT Power Corporation
- Team Excellence Award, presented by Aurora Ford
- Good Business Award, presented by Hay River Chamber of Commerce
- Sport Builders Award, presented by Taylor & Company
- Trailblazer Award, presented by Keiths Water Service
- Citizen of the Year Award, presented by Northwestel
Hay River locals were given the opportunity to nominate their favourite businesses online, with the nomination period having ended on January 27th.
The event will also feature a musical performance by 5/3rds Mad and DJ Services LAICUH, a silent auction, and dinner provided for all guests. The event will be held at the Hay River Legion.
