RCMP officers in Hay River are currently investigating an attempted arson that took place earlier this week.
Early in the morning on February 5th, officers were informed that somebody had attempted to set fire to a residence on Stewart Drive. Two suspects were seen fleeing the area on foot, and a neighbour was able to quickly put the fire out with no injuries.
No arrests have been made at this time, and officers are still investigating. This incident is believed to be connected to local drug trafficking.
