United Way Shares Recipients of 2025 Community Investment Fund

Having always served as a pillar of community support, United Way NWT has shared the recipients of the 2025 Community Investment Fund.

This program provides financial support to various local non-profits that focus in efforts of housing, youth programming, cultural issues, and shelter supports. This year, a grand total of $205,000 has been made available, and is going out to a number of local initiatives.

This year’s recipients are:

– Food Rescue Yellowknife

– NWT Literacy Council

– YWCA NWT

– Holy Trinity Anglican Church

– Hay River Family Support Centre

– Society of St. Vincent de Paul

– Ecology North

– Délı̨nę Got’ı̨nę Government

– Inclusion NWT (pending final confirmation)

– Yellowknife United Church Outreach Committee

– Soaring Eagle Friendship Centre

– Special Olympics NWT

– Habitat for Humanity NWT

– Yellowknife Education District No. 1 (YK1)

– Hay River Soup Kitchen

– Yellowknife Playschool

– Hamlet of Ulukhaktok (Multi-Year Grant: Year 3 of 3)

– Hay River Committee for Persons with Disabilities (Multi-Year Grant: Year 3 of 3, via

Ben Linaker, the Chair of United Way NWT’s Board, said that the programs chosen for the CIF cover a wide range of vital community services, each of which “reflects the strength, care, and resilience that exists across Northern communities. We’re proud to support their important work as they create lasting, local impact that meets urgent needs and builds a stronger North for everyone.”

These recipients were chosen by United Way’s Community Investment Committee, which in turn is comprised of local community members.
