Yellowknife’s Capitol Theatre will be holding a special screening of an Oscar-winning documentary.
The film is called No Other Land, and discusses the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine in the West Bank. The film was developed and directed by a team of both Palestinian and Israeli filmmakers, and details the work of a Palestinian resistance to the conflict coming to their community.
The screening of this film is being organized by a grassroots group known as YK Citizens for Ceasefire, and was aided by a private donation to help rent out one of the theatre’s screens. The screening is also being supported by Overlander Sports, and all of the money raised by this event is being put towards the Yellowknife Well of Hope Project, which aims to establish a community water well in a Northern Gaza community known as Beit Hanoun.
The screening is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 14th, with the film starting at 7:00pm. After the movie is over, the audience will be welcomed to take part in a panel discussion.
