The RCMP confirmed that an “active investigation of a social media cryptocurrency scam” is underway in the area.
The RCMP told True North FM that the investigation began Feb. 19 and is related to a report by a Yellowknife woman who said she lost $26,000 in a cryptocurrency scam involving a fake news story.
True North FM will share additional details as they become available and are confirmed by the RCMP.
