The City of Yellowknife just announced the long-anticipated opening of the Aquatic Centre is happening on May 5!
“With an 8 lane lap pool and a leisure pool, this state-of-the-art facility can accommodate more programs than ever before,” the city boasted in an announcement this afternoon.
Registration for spring swimming lessons opens on May 6 at 9 a.m. and lessons will start on May 12.
Summer recreational and aquatic programs will start at the end of June. These programs will be open for registration on May 12.
“Keep an eye on our Facebook page for reminders and check out our online registration system a few days prior to each registration day to browse the programs available,” said the city.
The public is invited to come out for the grand opening, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
“We would like to thank our partners, and our consulting and Design Build teams, for their hard work and dedication to this project. We also thank residents for their patience and support throughout the development stages. With exceptional amenities and a modern design, we have no doubt that this facility will be a community hub for many years to come,” said the city.
