The City of Yellowknife has announced a “Welcome Home gathering” on Saturday, September 23, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Somba K’e Civic Plaza.
The City promises live music and entertainment, complete with a Kids Zone with bouncy castles, face painting, and socializing.
Additionally, the City is encouraging residents to shop local over the weekend. The City has set up a contest to support local businesses and restaurants with a chance to win one of ten $100 gift cards to any Yellowknife business.
To enter, residents must take a photo of their receipt, proving they spent $50 or more at a local business or restaurant between September 22 and 24. Two entries from separate locations will be accepted per person.
Residents must then submit their photo to the form on the City’s website or email [email protected] by Wednesday, September 27 at 5:00pm. The form will be published on Friday, September 22, at 9:00am.
Winners are scheduled to be announced on Friday, September 29, 2023.
