The City of Yellowknife Fire Division is currently offering free home and property assessments for city residents.

These assessments will highlight any areas of risk that may exist inside the home, and will offer specific recommendations for how to improve the home’s ability to resist the damage of a wildfire.

Each recommendation will be specific to the property being assessed. The process measures how much the property will be at risk from a wildfire, while engaging the homeowner to discuss their unique fire risk and guidance as to how to reduce it.

This program is working alongside groups like FireSmart Canada, FireSmart NWT, as well as the various homeowners around Yellowknife.

Anyone who wishes to book an assessment can do so by calling 867-766-5502, or by sending an email to [email protected]. These assessments will be available until the Fall season.
