City of Yellowknife and union representing city employees ratify collective agreement

The City of Yellowknife has announced that the Public Service Alliance of Canada Local X0345 and City Council have ratified a new Collective Agreement after several weeks of negotiations.

The agreement took effect on September 16th and will remain in effect until December 31st, 2027.

Yellowknife Mayor Rebecca Alty says after hard work from both parties, the new collective agreement reflects an understanding between the needs of city employees and the city’s resource “limitations.”

“The meaningful dialogue throughout the collective bargaining delivered many mutually agreeable enhancements to the collective agreement,” she says.
