A Yellowknife woman is facing charges after being arrested in relation to an assault that took place last week.
On October 4th, Yellowknife officers were informed that a person had been stabbed nearby Sunridge Apartments. When officers arrived on the scene, they found that a person had indeed been stabbed, and learned that the assailant had fled in a vehicle.
Officers found the vehicle just a short time later, and arrested several suspects who were believed to have been involved. One of those arrested is a 40-year-old woman who is now facing charges of:
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of a weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and
- Obstructing a Peace Officer.
The woman has appeared before a Justice of the Peace, and has been released in order to appear in court on October 29th.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing. The RCMP believes that there are additional witnesses to this crime, and urge anyone who may have additional information to contact them at 669-1111.
