The Fort Providence RCMP are currently searching for the suspect behind a stolen vehicle, and are asking the public for assistance.
This case first began on March 2nd, when Fort Providence RCMP were conducting a traffic stop on Highway 3 when the driver fled the scene. The vehicle, a black 2017 Ford Focus was later found abandoned near the community. A closer inspection of the vehicle revealed that it had been reported as stolen from Edmonton.

The vehicle has since been returned to its owner, and the search for the suspect continues.
