Hay River Preparing for New Waste Disposal Cart Delivery

Hay River residents will finally have their new curbside carts rolled out to their homes this weekend.

It was previously announced that Hay River would be revamping its general waste collection process to be identical to Yellowknife’s, and that includes curbside carts that will be delivered to residential properties throughout the community.

These carts will be dropped off at the ideal pickup area for each residence. The first batch of carts will be delivered on Friday, April 11^th to homes around Vale Island, which includes West Channel, Lakeshore Drive, and Old Town.

The next carts wil be delivered on Saturday, April 12^th to homes around Main Town North, which includes areas to the north of Downtown, as well as 553, Woodland Drive, and Riverview Drive.

The final batch of carts will be delivered on Sunday, April 13^th, and will be distributed throughout the Main Town South area, which includes areas to the south of downtown, and along Mile 5.

Garbage collection with these carts will first be used on the week of April 14^th, which aligns with the existing collection schedule. For any Hay River residents that may need to discuss alternate arrangements for cart delivery, they can contact Hay River Disposals at 867-874-2720.
